about
23 was a bright year. A year of growth, a flood of words, a non stop flow of visceral cinematic images in a life played out under a golden dawn of quickening, and apocalypse within. These songs sprung forth that year, or are of character that left indelible marks on me that year, and I, them. Slainte.
lyrics
Comin' With The Rain
watch the sky just to pass the time away
rain is coming but it ain’t gonna come today
I’m smiling to myself but god I’m lonely here
she said she’d be back,
wait for the hurricane
so when the sky turns black
it means she’s coming with the rain
down in the valley, well a storm is cooking up
I’m dry as a desert and an ocean’s not enough
feel like a beggar bum who needs another beer
she said she’d be back,
so I can’t complain
when thunder starts to crack
it means she’s coming with the rain
the sky is open but it’s closing in on me
by the way I got no better place to be
just sitting on the stoop is fine for me today
so many hours more,
she’s got a big surprise in store
she does it just to torture me
she knows I’m just waiting happily
see you tomorrow and the day after and the next
no use explaining cause, well you know the rest
call me foolish but a sitting fool I’ll be
she said she’d be back
to take away this pain
so when the clouds unpack
it means she’s coming with the rain
